***For Immediate Release***
Startup Bus, Chicago ̶ In a drunken brainstorming session before the 2011 Startup Bus launch, the idea for a joke roulette was conceived. (Kind of like Chat Roulette, but less sad.) Adopting the name Jokegasm at its initial pitch, what is now Ejokulate (e-joke-you-late) will be pitched to potential investors at the end of the SXSW Interactive as a joke generator iPhone app.
Shake, lock, and/or tap your way to the perfect joke to tweet to your friends, use Ejokulate to break the ice (or melt it) with your Twitter followers. Essentially, the app randomly pulls together separate parts of a joke’s structure assembling a fully formed witticism. Send Ejokulate’s output (also known as a “jokegasm”) from your mobile Apple device to your feed, adding a necessary break between the clutter of the day’s mundane chatter and “Winning..!” memes. The goal of Ejokulate is to help you impetuously generate the funny then share it on the go.
A paper test on glass. Shake it! Lock it! Finish! Then rest…
The most recent incarnation of the interface. The wider display allows for better viewing, and the locking mechanisms are now more prominent for easier remixing, editing, and rating of content as worthy for reuse.
It’s ejokulate 2.0! The grammar formula is fairly solid and the buttons highly trimmed down to increase comprehension and readability. The next screen after finish would be what Jokegasm was, a display for one’s joke and a place to send it to twitter or other outlets.
The Startup Bus Chicago team for Ejokulate, the joke generator, presents its concept and performs a demo of its app using an iPad.
